When I was filming the documentary "The Secret Life of Trees" in Canada a few years ago, the forecast was for bad, rainy weather. I needed a fairly uncomplicated solution as a rain cover for the camera and since all existing products were too complicated for me and it took too long to put them on and take them off again, I improvised and made my own cover.
The idea for the cover was quite simple, but met my needs.
When I was back in Germany. I wondered if I could apply this idea to other cameras. And so I started meeting with other colleagues and camera assistants and talking about the requirements and possible solutions. My basic idea was quite simple and I thought it wouldn't take too long to transfer this idea to other cameras. That was a few years ago now and unfortunately the pandemic and all the other crises have not accelerated the process. I still believe that my "Rainwings" can improve the workflow and work on set.
In any case, the idea is out there.
